EDUCATION:

EXPERIENCE:
High school graduate or equivalent
Must be minimum of eighteen (18) years of age
Paid - Minimum of two (2) years field experience as an EMT
Volunteer – No minimum field experience necessary
1. Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) (volunteer only)
A) Minimum of Vermont State certification
B) Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate
2. Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
A) Minimum of Vermont State certification and NREMT certification
B) Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification
3. Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT)
A) Minimum of Vermont State certification
B) Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification
4. Paramedic
A) Minimum NREMT Paramedic and State of Vermont Paramedic certifications
B) Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification
C) ACLS, PALS, PHTLS certifications
5. Critical Care EMT- Paramedic
A) Minimum NREMT Paramedic and State of Vermont Paramedic certifications
B) Vermont approved Critical Care course completion certificate
C) Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification
D) ACLS, PALS, PHTLS, PEPP, NRP, AMLS certifications
1. Demonstrated evidence of proficiency in the required ALS and BLS skills per certification level - must have thorough current knowledge of medical/traumatic assessments, treatment and protocols
2. Valid motor vehicle operator’s license that is not under suspension or revocation
3. Completed Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC), (CVO) or complete within one (1) year of membership
4. Certified in HAZ-MAT awareness or equivalent or obtain certification within one (1) year of membership
5. IC 100, IC 200, IC 700 certification or obtained within one (1) year of membership
6. Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with fellow members, hospital staffs, Fire Departments, Rescue Squads, Police Departments, communication centers, management, neighboring EMS Agencies, and the general public.
7. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
8. Must be able to handle conflict situations with good judgment, professionalism and courtesy
9. Must have a working knowledge of the physical layout of street systems, and demographics of Manchester Rescue Squad, Inc. coverage area
10. Must be able to provide a minimum of 24 hours of coverage per month
